Two Prestigious Awards Bestowed to Renaissance Austin Hotel; Meetings & Conventions Gold Key and AAA's Four-Diamond Award®
Austin, TX (PRWeb) January 21, 2007 -- The Renaissance Austin Hotel was recently honored with two esteemed awards - the Gold Key Award from Meetings & Conventions magazine, and the AAA Four Diamond Award®.
Meetings & Conventions magazine's annual Gold Key Award for 2006, celebrating its 29th year, is bestowed upon the world's finest meeting properties. The award for 2006 marks the tenth consecutive year the Austin hotel has been given the impressive honor.
The north Austin hotel was also awarded the prominent AAA Four Diamond Award for 2007, marking ten years as a recipient, consecutive for the last three years. AAA assigned its Four Diamond Award rating for the year 2007 to 67 lodgings and 31 restaurants in Texas.

All winners of the Gold Key award of excellence were nominated and selected by the readers of M&C, who based their votes on the overall professionalism and quality of the property. This year, the readers honored 180 domestic and 20 international hotels and resorts as Gold Key winners. These experienced meeting planners selected their winning properties based on strict industry criteria including: staff attitude; quality of meeting rooms; quality of guest services; food and beverage service; proficiency of handling reservations; availability of technical/support equipment and range of recreational facilities.
"AAA Four Diamond Award winners know the language of customer satisfaction as they consistently deliver premier experiences, complete with superior personal service, first-class amenities, and impressive surroundings," said Mark Bell, general manager of AAA Texas.
The Texas establishments join a select group of AAA Four Diamond Award winners, all of which will be featured in Meetings & Conventions' Gold Awards issue published in November. Just 3.4 percent of the more than 32,000 AAA Rated® lodgings and 2.7 percent of the nearly 28,000 AAA Rated® restaurants were awarded the prestigious AAA Four Diamond designation for 2007. The Diamond ratings are included in each lodging and restaurant listing in the 2007 AAA Texas TourBook® guide, in print and on AAA's Web site at www.aaa.com. The Renaissance Austin was one of just nine hotels selected for this award from the Austin area.
