The American College Awards Its Highest Honor, the Huebner Gold Medal, to Jack B. Turner, CLU®, ChFC®

Bryn Mawr, PA (PRWeb) December 20, 2006 -- The American College, the nation's leading educator of financial service professionals, recently awarded its highest honor, the Huebner Gold Medal, to Jack B. Turner, CLU®, ChFC® during a black tie ceremony at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.

"His "can do" attitude and willingness to help people is part of everything he does. Jack continues to be a steadfast supporter of The American College and our industry. We are proud to add his name to our elite list of Huebner Gold Medal recipients which includes some of the most notable men and women ever produced by the financial services industry."

The Huebner Gold Medal is the highest honor bestowed by The American College and is named for the founder of The College, Dr. Solomon S. Huebner. The medal has been awarded annually since 1975 to honor those special few individuals whose support of the College and its programs, and whose dedication to education and professionalism, have been of particular meaning to the mission and progress of the institution.

The Huebner Gold Medal is one of many well-deserved accolades earned by Turner over the course of his distinguished career. After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1958, Jack began his own business, Jack B. Turner & Associates.

In three short years, Turner became one of the youngest life insurance agents to ever qualify for membership in the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). Every year since 1962, Turner has qualified for MDRT membership. In 1963 he earned his CLU® designation from The American College and by age 27 was the youngest President of the Tennessee Association of Life Underwriters. He returned to The College in 1989 and earned his ChFC® designation. Turner has also served as President of the Million Dollar Round Table, The Million Dollar Round Table Foundation and President of Association for Advanced Life Underwriting.

As an active alumnus of The College, Turner was always willing to give back to the institution. He is a member and previous chairman of the President's Circle and along with a select group of alumni and has donated to the college for the past 14 consecutive years. Mr. Turner has served as a Trustee of The American College and the Life Underwriting Training Council (LUTC) and has also served as a member of The American College Foundation Board.

He was a charter inductee of the Robert E. Musto Tennessee Insurance Hall of Fame and received what is considered to be the industry's highest honor, the John Newton Russell Award, from the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). In addition, Turner has qualified 21 years consecutively for the MDRT Top of the Table and has qualified six times for MetLife Chairman's Council. He is a member of the GenAmerica Hall of Fame, served on the boards of the National Association of Estate Planning Councils and the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education.

Turner's name will be added to the Huebner Gold Medal Recognition Wall located on The College's campus in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. This wall includes the names of every medal recipient since the award's inception.
